Multi-Channel Sound Cards Use for Surround Sound
Here is a list of multi-channel sound cards which can be used for 5.1 surround sound:
RME-Audio

RME-Audio has some great sound cards for surround sound. Depending upon the number of channels and the type of audio interface you are interested in RME-Audio probably has something for you. Currently the firewire audio interfaces are the big thing. Firewire gives you a lot of audio data bandwidth in a single cable. The PCI card systems are great as well.

RME-Audio FireWire 800 - The RME-Audio Firewire 800 is a firewire audio interface that has 8 inputs and 8 outputs. It uses +4dBV TRS connectors but can also accept -10dBV as well. These converters can be run at up to 192kHz sample rate so it's High-Definition multi-channel audio capable.

RME Hammerfall HDSP Multiface This is a great affordable system that comes with eight TRS inputs and eight TRS outputs, an ADAT lightpipe (8 channels), and a S/PDIF port. If you need more channels then purchase more Mulitfaces.

RME Hammerfall HDSP 9652 PCI Card This card has three ADAT light pipe interfaces. This means that you can have upto 48 channels of 48k audio or 24 channels of 96k audio (using S/MUX). You'll need to have your own AD and DA converters. The RME ADI-8 DS 8 Channel Converter is good as are converters from Apogee and others.
